a daily reminder that you're not alone in this <3
i thought I'd share a photo of how I look on a daily (excuse my messy study area lol)
this first week of school feels almost surreal as i have realized I will not see the inside of a classroom, gym, or most social events for many many more months. i feel as if the past 5 months have been nothing but challenging and I’m ready for things to get better!
aside from very immediate family and friends, I have been pretty lowkey about what’s really been going on in my life. over the past month, from an outside perspective, it probably seems like i’m doing more than well and trust me, there are sooooo many things i cannot complain about. however, a few months ago, in June, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune illness that eventually lead to a very active disease in my kidneys. it’s been months of blood work, biopsy’s and now medication. my treatment plan is going well but it hasn’t been easy... especially during a pandemic!!
although i can still be physically active, workout, and move about easily, COVID has trapped me. the medications I’m on are very suppressive for my immune system leaving me nothing but vulnerable to this virus. i’m not writing this with the intent to gain pity, but to remind you that EVERYONE is going through it. things always look perfect but nothing ever is ppl...and being vulnerable is the best way to get through the tough stuff for me. I know i’m strong and i have no question i’ll beat this shit baby!
finding my weekly #feelgoodfuel is something that started with @si_swimsuit and @mj_day but has progressed into my daily routine. i acknowledge every single person, thing, and event in my life that I am grateful for. this week my #feelgoodfuel is driven by my appreciation for the amazing healthcare professionals, strong support systems, and family/friends who are devoted to getting me healthy. s
so my #transportwithswimsuit is right at home! y’all already know how much your support for everything has meant to me. i ask that you stay positive, you continue to be a part of the solution and not the problem, and take a minute to think about what fuels you every day (rlly it has helped me). send some good juju in the world. sending love everyone’s way
