There’s a reason that we can’t stop talking about the style that we’ve coined business chic—the glamorous take on traditional, office-appropriate garb. The style has found purchase among many of the most fashionable of our modern era. Swapping the boxy suits and uninspired dresses of years past with chic silk skirts and more fitted styles, the clothing of the modern day businesswoman has a certain versatility to it that makes it fit for far more than just the office.

One of the chief examples of this sort of style is none other than social media influencer Alix Earle. Her growing acclaim has given her a voice in the realm of style, allowing her a chance to set trends and inspire. She did just that with her recent business chic outfit, a white silk number that would be fit for a night out just as much as it was for her recent public speaking event in Miami.

The top and midi skirt set had all the elements of a good business look (shoulder pads included) and of a glamorous night out look (a figure-accentuating fit and a supremely silky material). She added a pair of pointed black pumps and silver jewelry to give it the added glam it deserved.

“business mode today,” she captioned a TikTok video of the outfit.

The clip began with Earle mouthing the classic Nikki Haley voiceover, “If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.” Then, it panned to the 22-year-old speaking at a panel event in Miami, showcasing her good style and business acumen in one.
