Swim Search Beauty Talks: Jamea Lynee

Find out how this SI Swim Search finalist rocks her look.

Welcome to our Beauty Talks Series! The final six models of the 2020 SI Swim Search class are here to share some of their best beauty tips, hacks and product must-haves. Check out our chat with Jamea Lynee:

SI: Best beauty advice you’ve ever been given?

JL: SPF is your best friend!

SI: How would you describe your beauty aesthetic?

JL: My beauty aesthetic is very simple. I usually do the same thing for an everyday look, I like it natural, alive and fresh.

SI: Beauty products that you use every day?

JL: I always have to have a lip balm on. One of them I currently love is The Kissu Lip Mask by Tatcha.

SI: Beauty products that are always in your purse?

JL: Lip balm/gloss, concealer and brow gel.

SI: What does your skincare routine look like?

JL: I’m still in the midst of finding out what works for me but I have a lot of steps that go into it. Every few weeks I’ll get a facial. If I wait too long, then I have to get extractions, which are the absolute worst!

Right now I have five steps. Cleanser, serum, acne cream, moisturizer, SPF. For night time I don’t use SPF. If I feel the need to do a mask, it’s right after a cleanse and followed up with the same steps whether it’s morning or night. It’s a lot and can be confusing, but I think it’s been helping my skin. (I’ll keep you guys updated!) A tip I have is to be consistent with your routine -- if not, your skin gets thrown off.

SI: Products you swear by?

JL: Georgio Armani luminous silk foundation. It’s really lightweight. I love it!

SI: Favorite face masks?

JL: If I notice my skin is starting to break out, I’ll put this on and I see a difference the next day!

  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

SI: Favorite way to wear your hair?

JL: I like to keep it out and big!

SI: Hair products you can’t live without?

JL: Conditioner, Aussie or OGX Quenching + Coconut Curls and a good oil.

SI: Best DIY hair mask you’ve tried?

JL: Egg and mayo. It sounds gross but it works really well and leaves the hair soft and moisturized after.
