The 30 Best Swimsuit Brands to Shop in 2023
May has arrived at last. Why not ring in that spring fever with a brand-new bikini? There’s nothing quite like a perfectly fitting, confidence-boosting swimsuit to get you excited for summer. With no shortage of options on the market, it can be daunting to sift through them all. To help you out with this important purchase, I’ve collected 30 of my favorite swimsuits, and brands that are worthy of escorting you through the coming sunny days.
Monica Hansen Beachwear
Monica Hansen suits are perfect if you need something functional, trendy and high quality. If you shy away from prints in your everyday wardrobe, give them a shot with swimwear, like this with this gorgeous zebra bikini.
Norma Kamali
In honor of the Barbie movie coming out this summer, a retro pink swimsuit should be on everyone’s list. Norma Kamali is an OG in the swimsuit industry and her suits are anything but basic.
HAIGHT
If you’re looking for an incredibly made, long-lasting and chic swimsuit, look no further than Haight. They have a range of classic cuts that won’t impede your tan.
Agua by Agua Bendita
Agua by Agua Bendita is a line of luxury swim and resort wear. This hand-embroidered high-waisted bikini is perfect for a chic summer vacation. The top can easily be worn as a crop top for a night out. The low hip high-waisted bottom is well suited on a narrow-hipped body. If you have more of an hourglass figure, one of their high-cut options, like this one piece, would be a great fit.
Akoia Swim
Crochet swimwear gives a very effortless cool girl, beach bum vibe. Akoia has managed to make crochet comfortable as well, with just the right amount of stretch and softness. They also have the best crochet dresses, like this one.
Good American
Brands often fall short when it comes to inclusive sizing, or at least good style at all sizes. Our plus and curvy models at SI Swimsuit always say that they find skimpier cuts more flattering on their bodies, but they’re hard to find. Good American fills a major hole in the market with a size range of XS-5XL. This suit looks great on every body type.
E Tijen
Hardware accents are a huge trend right now and one piece does it perfectly with a bit of a Western aesthetic. This particular suit is great for a petit frame, or shorter torso, as it runs on the small side.
J Crew
The resurgence of J Crew is no joke. This suit feels pulled straight off someone in Nantucket in the early 2000s and I mean that in a good way. J Crew also features a great size range from XXS-3XL.
Heavy Manners
Cult favorite swim brand, Heavy Manners is one of the hottest brands of the moment, and for good reason. You can expect 80’s inspired skimpy cuts and playful prints. These suits fit great on a wide range of body types.
Sommer Swim
Sommer Swim truly understands how to create the perfect fit. The high cut bottoms here, with thicker sides, help create an hourglass shape. The top offers a tasteful amount of "under-boob" while still being comfortable and functional for a swim.
Leslie Amon
Metallics are having their moment. This suit by Leslie Amon has a futuristic feel without being theatrical. It's a chic way to try out the trend.
SAME
SAME is one of my favorite brands when I’m looking for something super feminine and, well, a little extra. While many brands are jumping on the floral right now, SAME has really nailed the construction, making this suit worth the splurge.
Reina Olga
Reina Ola does a great job of balancing sporty with fashion for their designs. You can expect wearable cuts like this scoop neck top that also has the glamour of full sparkles.
Blackbough
One of my favorite brand recommendations for our Gen Z market is Blackbough. The suits are young, often with bold playful prints, or cute accents like rainbow beads. The sweatheart halter cut of this top is supportive and lifting.
INDAH
INDAH has been featured in SI Swimsuit more times than I can count. The suits are so comfortable and always sexy. This particular suit features a deep plunging neckline and a stringy side body. INDAH also does the best simple small bikinis like this bandeau suit with gold hardware.
HUNZA G
I recommend Hunza G to just about everyone. Their suits are so comfortable, cute and timeless. You’ll catch me in this cobalt blue suit all summer long. The bottoms can easily be worn low or hiked up for a more hourglass illusion. The scoop-cut top with ring detail gives a subtle 70’s vibe. This red one-piece is another of my favorites from the brand.
Medina Swimwear
Medina Swimwear’s mission is to create expertly engendered suits that tread lightly on earth. Their suits are made of regenerated nylon, are UV-proof and chlorine resistant. The fabric is incredibly supple and double-lined for great support. Medina suits are timeless. If low-rise isn’t your jam, try one of their high-cut bottoms like this one.
Acacia
Acacia is another great option for crochet swim. They often layer a suit with crochet, which allows for extra comfort. Their suits always feel simple, sophisticated and effortless.
Riot Swim
While Riot Swim suits look great on everyone, they are amazing for curvy figures and their designers feature mega-high hip cuts and buttery soft and stretchy fabric.
Tropic of C
Candice Swanepoel has made a huge mark on the swimwear industry with her brand Tropic of C. Her production is easy on the planet, with a major focus on ethical and sustainable practices. Her suits are also the most comfortable option for an all-day wear, and make us feel like we’re meant to do just that.
Belle The Label
This is the perfect roughed bikini. The balconette top is supportive and gives a nice boost. The tonga-like bottoms are surprisingly some of the most flattering. Even for those who typically opt for tie sides, you should give this cut a try. It comes in a wide range of colors, but this mossy green is a gorgeous unexpected option.
Solid & Striped
This suit by Solid & Striped feels like the perfect way to incorporate Daisy Jones and the Six‘s 70’s fashion into your beach wardrobe in a modern way.
Beach Riot
Beach Riot is known for its elevated, colorful suits. This asymmetric emerald green suit is perfect for making a statement without being too risqué. If you’re in the market for mommy and me swim, Beach Riot has you covered on that front as well, see here.
Cleonie
Cleonie offers a collection of unique asymmetrical suits. The Australian brand uses recycled nylon to create this thick crinkled fabric and is ideal for those who prefer a thicker fabric.
Asta Resort
Asta Resorts Provides classic triangle bikinis with a little something extra like this black suit with gorgeous earth-tone beading.
Frankies Bikinis
Francesca Aiello, founder of Frankies Bikinis, has outdone herself yet again with this Pamela Anderson Collaboration. The designer also recently secured collabs with A-listers like Sydney Sweeney and Gigi Hadid. This classic bay watch suit may just be the suit of summer 2023.
Cynthia Rowley
If you ask me, you don't need to know how to surf, you just need a Cynthia Rowley surf suit for a photo.
Eunoia
Eunoia is one of the SI Swimsuit Fashion Teams’ favorite new brands of the year. This candy-land-looking suit is sexy and unique.
Bamba Swim
Brazilian swimwear brand, Bamba, is the ultimate destination for itsy-bitsy sexy suits. The wide straps on this top give a great lift and also gives added support for a fuller bust—oppose to stringy triangles.
Maygel Coronel
If you're on a luxurious European vacation this summer this suit feels like a necessity and worthy of throwing functionality aside.
Janthee
Janthee is known for its suits that offer as many as eight different ways of wearing, like this one. The silhouette of the suit pictured above has thick bands that give more visual interest than your standard triangle and helps elevate the playful colors and pattern.
Toast
If you’re looking for a sporty, but understated suit, this suit by Toast is a great option. You can zip, or unzip to desired cleavage.
