Haley Kalil’s 90s Bangs

It's time to make an appointment with your hairdresser!

After the year we’ve all been through, it makes sense there would be a yearning to go back in time. And that blissful period is apparently the 90s --.at least in the hairstyle world. Wispy, blunt bangs are popping up on faces all over, with Haley Kalil being one of the most recent.

The SI Swim model debuted her look on Instagram, captioning a photo, "New hair who dis?" In the picture, where the red-headed beauty is donning a hot pink Frankies Bikinis top, Kalil credited Los Angeles hairstylist Raphael Silerio for the fresh look. Silerio posted the same image to his account, explaining the look was the combo of a chop and fringe.

It's that style fringe we saw made famous in the 90s along with side "tendril" bangs that have recently made a comeback. Bella Hadid rocked the side bangs on the Versace runway during Milan Fashion Week in February, similar to a style we saw on legendary model Helena Christensen in the pre-millennium era.

"What we are seeing is a lot of 90s boldness coming back," hairstylist and extension expert Andy Glickman says. "That's reflected in bold decisions, bold colors and bold cuts. Stylists are now creating a modern flair on that boldness. That's what we see with Haley, who traded her curtain bangs for a shorter, more blunt 90s inspired fringe to compliment her new shag haircut. She's giving off Angelina Jolie Girl Interrupted vibes."

While Kalil is certainly stunning with her new look, the Minnesota native didn't always make the best choices when it came to bangs. In fact, it was the most regrettable beauty trend she ever tried. "Remember those Emo bangs that covered your eyes, and ALL the cool kids had them," she told SI Swimsuit earlier this year. "Yeah, I tried those, along with all the dark eyeliner I could get my little hands on."
