These 6 Chic Black One-Piece Swimsuits Are Anything But Basic
When it comes to swimsuit trends, what’s popular changes so regularly that it’s best to have a few staples in your wardrobe. This summer, people are flocking to the beach in Barbiecore-inspired styles, but you can never go wrong with a timeless black swimsuit.
While on location in Dominica for this year’s magazine, Christen Harper, SI Swimsuit’s reigning co-Rookie of the Year, perfectly demonstrated the importance of a black one-piece that’s anything but basic. The strapless designer piece Harper wore featured a flattering sweetheart neckline and shirred detailing up the front.
“The location was stunning. I had never even heard of Dominica [before my photo shoot]. It was just so jungly and green and lush and beautiful. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been,” Harper told SI Swimsuit of her third feature with the brand. “And we got to go under a waterfall which was really cool. It kind of made the whole shoot a little more moody. Every year has its own magic that keeps it exciting and fresh.”
