Post-Summer Dry Hair Fixes

Five products to keep your hair hydrated and full of shine.

Post-summer hair is a real thing. For months we spent hours under the sun, lounging in chlorinated pools. Now with the colder, drier weather upon us and the need for the warmth of that extra-hot shower, it’s quite normal to have dull hair that’s looking for some TLC. While we update our skincare routine for fall, we should do the same for our locks. A haircut is the best place to start. Trimming off split ends is like a reset button. If hitting the salon isn't a reality for you right now, no worries, these five products will nourish your hair back to its prime:

  1. It's a 10

A tried and true drug store product. After shampooing, work this through your hair and let it sit for 10 minutes.

  1. Castor Oil

This is our favorite natural and inexpensive product. Massage through your scalp and hair and leave in for an hour (or longer) before showering. You can also use a drop daily to protect your ends.

  1. Act + Acre Scalp Treatment

This is what we call getting to the root cause. Having a healthy scalp is crucial to good hair. Act + Acre’s oil-based scalp treatment is packed with much needed nourishing nutrients.

  1. Creme of Nature Butter-licious Curls Hydrating Creme

If your curls are lacking their normal bounce and movement, this product is for you. It will hydrate and add shine for days.

  1. Rahua Leave-In Treatment Light

This is a great option for finer hair that doesn't leave locks feeling heavy or greasy.

Lastly, swap out drying your hair with a blow dryer or rough cotton towel for a microfiber hair turban to prevent unnecessary breakage.
