Melissa Wood-Tepperberg knows a thing or two about healthy living and treating your body with love. In addition to a clean diet and active lifestyle, the 40-year-old wellness leader takes a few specific supplements to promote gut health and a balanced mind.

The 2023 SI Swimsuit rookie is founder of MWH, a platform that aims to make mindful health and wellness accessible to all. She’s also a firm believer in occasional colonic treatments to flush out the colon and bowel system.

“I have been getting colonics for years, I know this can be controversial,” she says. “When I had cystic acne, it was one thing that really helped me clear my skin because everything is connected to our gut. The cleaner I became internally... things started really clearing in my body.”

The mom of two adds that the treatments also really enhanced her energy and now she just does them intuitively, usually once every two months.

“I’m really flexible with like just listening to my body and knowing when I go [to the bathroom],” the Move With Heart podcast host continues. “It’s just another thing that has helped keep me really regular.”

Below are four oral supplements that Wood-Tepperberg simply can’t live without.

Seed Daily Synbiotic, $49.99 (seed.com)

Wood-Tepperberg takes this capsule every single morning.

“It’s actually a symbiotic—that’s a prebiotic and a probiotic in one that really enhances your bowels, which is very important,” she says.

You can use the code MWHEALTH for 15% off your seed.com order.

Arrae Bloat, $48 (arrae.com)

“I take Arrae Bloat when I’m feeling like really uncomfortable, especially during my [menstrual] cycle, like if I’m just like not feeling great,” she explains. “It’s amazing—has six ingredients, super clean, super pure and really works.”

Arrae Calm, $48 (arrae.com)

Wood-Tepperberg describes herself as someone who “runs a little anxious.” She says this supplement has a special blend of ingredients that help calm her down when she is feeling really overwhelmed.

Sakara Detox Tea, $20 and Sleep Tea, $20 (sakara.com)

The detox tea is made with rooibos, lemongrass and rose, while the sleep tea is infused with catnip, valerian and passionflower. Wood-Tepperberg likes to drink one before bed, occasionally paired with a warm bath filled with epsom salt.

“And then I get into bed, I put my legs up the wall every night, typically without fail, because it just helps drain that fluid, the inflammation that we carry from being on our legs all day and really opens up the circulation, which is really great,” she adds.
