Genie Bouchard’s Game Day ’Fit Requires Only a Jersey and Some Thigh-High Boots
Professional athlete Genie Bouchard traded her tiny tennis skirt, matching tank and New Balance sneakers for an oversized jersey as she attended a New York Islanders game on Nov. 22. The hockey team faced off against the Philadelphia Fliers at the UBS Arena and won with a score of 3-2.
The recent Billie Jean King Cup winner—who brought home Canada’s first title from the tournament earlier this month—donned a classy, chic and casual outfit as she cheered on the team, posed with the team’s mascot, Sparky the Dragon, and even made an appearance on the Jumbotron. The former World No. 5 tennis player paired a custom “Genie” emblazoned oversized blue, white and orange Rangers jersey with light brown suede knee-high boots and a floor-length camel-colored coat for warmth. The 29-year-old accessorized with gold hoop earrings, a stack of bracelets and bangles and several gold rings.
“a long island girlie,” the Canada native, who spends a lot of time in New York City, captioned an Instagram carousel she shared with her 2.4 million followers.
“Go Islanders! You brought the luck, Go Genie! Actually… come EAT GENIE! The table is set!!!!! 😘🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙,” fellow SI Swimsuit model Christie Brinkley commented. The three-time cover star’s son, Jack Brinkley-Cook, and Bouchard, who was featured in the magazine in 2017 and ’18, are dating.
“You brought them luck & helped to spruce the place up. 😁💪🥳🩷,” one fan chimed.
“You’re Adorable!! ❤️,” another wrote.
“Taylor Swift of hockey?” someone else inquired.
