Haley Kalil and Josephine Skriver Hiked a Volcano in Iceland Together
The SI Swimsuit models are also travel buddies.
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit is known for taking its models to some of the most breathtaking destinations on Earth for photo shoots. But recently two of the brand’s stars set off on their own to an exotic locale. Earlier this month real-life pals Haley Kalil and Josephine Skriver traveled to Iceland to see the Fagradalsfjall volcano eruption firsthand.
Kalil took to Instagram on June 15 to share pics from the incredible natural event. You can see the model donning a red jacket, black pants, hiking boots and a tan Carhart hat while posing in front of molten lava in the snaps. Then, in another photo, the 28-year-old is hugging Skriver with the flowing lava as the backdrop. Of course, the two made the scene instantly photo-shoot-worthy.
“Jaja Ding Don,” Haley captioned the pics referencing the Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams comedy Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. “Volcano adventures in Iceland with @josephineskriver.”
Kalil shared more from her adventurous getaway on her Stories on Instagram. In one shot, she’s climbing a rock wall and walking along a black beach. The redhead and self-proclaimed “nerd” also shared a video of herself singing songs from The Story of Fire Saga, followed by an image of what seems to be some sort of hand injury thanks to the rugged terrain and another shot from an iceberg-filled shoreline.
Skriver also shared photos on social media from vacation, including one in a field of wildflowers taken by fiance Alexander DeLeon (who also posted jaw-dropping videos of the lava flow).
This isn’t the first time Skriver has traveled with another model. The adventure seeker visited Ecuador, the Galapagos and Antarctica with Jasmine Tookes.
The Fagradalsfjall volcano, located 25 miles outside of Reykjavík, began erupting in March after having sat dormant for 6,000 years.
