Why You Should Consider a Sleeveless Sweater

Here are five transitional pieces to ease you into the fall season.

I don’t know about you, but post-Labor Day, I am immediately ready to retire my bikinis and break out the knits. The weather, however, is rarely on the same page. Early autumn requires some serious wardrobe adaptability. After being a sweater-vest skeptic and holding off on the trend, I finally gave it a try, and it’s a yes from me.

Don’t delay getting your hands on one of these knits. A sleeveless sweater or sweater-vest will be a year-round piece that can be styled alone, over a button-up, under a blazer, etc. It's a great way to add texture and dimension to an outfit without looking overdone (or overheating). Keep it simple and buy one that you can wear on repeat without tiring of. Here are my top picks:

The high neck and clean lines of this sweater keeps it simple, elegant and easily wearable.

This lightweight ribbed cashmere sweater drapes beautifully for a subtle sex appeal.

For a little something extra, this striped quarter zip is the way to go. Very French, IMO.

This may give you the most wear of all. It’s a phenomenal layering piece and can be left unbuttoned for a laid-back look.

You can’t go wrong with a classic cable knit, cream combo by Ralph Lauren. For an oversized look, a men’s sweater is a great option.
