Midi dresses are always the first item of clothing to come out of the closet after a long and chilly winter. It makes perfect sense: they are the best transition item, not too warm and not too short, and with the extra amount of fabric, there’s opportunity for cute floral patterns and prints.

Swim Search top 12 finalist Jena Sims attended the Masters in Augusta last weekend with her husband, pro golfer Brooks Koepka. While on one of the days she was subjected to the white jumpsuit that caddies are required to wear, she was able to tap into her favorite spring clothing trend—midi dresses—on the other days.

Many cities, including Augusta, can get a little chilly at night before the peak of summer. Sims figured out the perfect way to show off her figure in a cute midi dress, while also keeping her upper body just toasty enough by layering up with a light sweater.

Midi dresses typically hit about mid-calf and double as the ideal outfit for a bottomless brunch or a sophisticated office look. Opt for a flowy, bright and printed number during the day or a slim-fitting black tube dress for a night out. Choose a puff sleeve, sweetheart neckline, asymmetrical hem—whatever you decide, the options are endless and the best part is, you don’t need to think about matching a shirt and pants.
