Kate Bock’s DIY Hair Masks Will Make Your Hair Shine
Let’s be honest, we could all use a spa day. That post-quarantine race to the nearest nail salon, spa and colorist is going to look like the NYC Marathon. My hair has certainly loved the break from curling irons, blow dryers, and, dye, but it certainly could use a boost in the shine department. Want to pamper yourself now? SI Swimsuit model Kate Bock has a hair mask that you can make with ingredients in your pantry. Kate has the most sought after hair in the SI Swimsuit family; every hair stylist we work with dreams about having her on their shoot. It’s voluminous, shiny and always perfectly styled. With just a few ingredients you can get that enviable Kate Bock hair. (Well, a girl can dream.)
These mask recipes come from Kate’s colorist, Annastasia Konidaris. There are two variations, one for dry hair and one for oily hair. Pop on a face mask, pour some champagne, turn on a rom-com, apply the hair mask and you’ve got yourself a DIY day at the spa. The best part is, these masks are gluten, sulfate and paraben free and you can use them up to twice a week.
Oily Hair Mask
For this mask you will need:
- ½ a lemon
- 2 tbsp of honey
- 1 egg white
To make this mask separate the egg white from the yolk into a bowl, add the juice of half a lemon and honey and mix together. Once you have combined the ingredients, wet your hair and apply the mask. Leave on for 30 minutes, then shower, shampoo, condition, dry your hair and voila!
Dry Hair Mask
For this mask you will need:
- ½ an avocado
- 2 tbsp of honey
- 2 tbsp of coconut oil
To make this mask, heat up the honey and coconut oil in the microwave until melted to make them easier to combine. Mash up the avocado in a bowl and add the warmed-up honey and coconut oil mixture. Mix together. Once you have combined the ingredients, wet your hair and apply the mask. Leave on for 30 minutes, then shower, shampoo, condition and dry your hair. Your hair will thank you!
