In the Kitchen With SI Swimsuit: Nasi Goreng
Last fall the SI Swimsuit crew was lucky enough to travel 36-plus hours to Bali, where we stayed at the phenomenal Soori Bali. We can just imagine sipping on a Balinese cocktail and watching the sunset on the black sand beaches in front of the resort’s restaurant. (If you are wondering why we are only imagining that, it’s because, natch, we were working during those hours.) All the same, we did get to enjoy some incredible food while visiting and you can too with this Soori-style Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice) recipe courtesy of the chefs at Soori Bali.
Ingredients:
300 grams white rice
50 grams carrots
50 grams cabbage
50 grams Chinese cabbage
5 grams shallot
5 grams garlic
5 grams leek
10 grams soya sauce
10 grams sweet soya sauce
10 grams fried shallot
1 egg

- Cut carrots, cabbage, Chinese cabbage and leek into long, thin strips.
- Add the egg, sauté and continue by stirring in rice and vegetables.
- Season with soya, sweet soya and fried shallot.
- Enjoy!
