The Secrets Behind Model-Worthy Skin

Kate Bock, Camille Kostek and more share their favorite beauty products.

Skincare is a priority for any model, especially with every fine pore being captured by the camera. Luckily, working in the beauty industry means that SI Swimsuit models have picked up a trick or two and have pretty much mastered a skincare routine. We tapped a few of them to find out the beauty products they swear by. Some are drugstore finds (think Trader Joe's)!

Haley Kalil Seeks Out Sensitive Skin Products

"As a redhead, I have very sensitive skin,” says Kalil, 2021 SI Swimsuit model. ”One wrong product, and I'm peeling or red or itchy or breaking out! I also have a retinol allergy, so most anti-aging products will leave me with nothing but a rash. I now have a routine I do every single day and night! It begins with CeraVe face wash for normal to dry skin followed by SkinCeuticals CE serum followed by The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid serum. Next, I use the SkinMedica TNS Essential serum. After that, my clindamycin lotion from my dermatologist followed my First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. I finish with a night cream by Sobel SkinRx called Bio Hyaluronic moisturizing cream and my Latisse (only at night)."

Laís Ribeiro Focuses on Hydrating

"I like to keep my routine pretty simple. In the morning,” says Ribeiro, who will be making her fourth SI Swimsuit Issue appearance in 2021. “I focus on protecting my skin by using SPF moisturizer, and at night I focus on hydrating my skin. Right now, my favorite products are Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, Dr. Barbara Sturm Darker Skin Tones Hyaluronic Serum, Supergoop Glow Screen, and Neutrogena Hydro Boost moisturizer. And I can never leave the house without lip gloss."

Kate Bock Has Three Skincare Routines

"I kind of switch up my skincare routine -- I have my Cleveland skincare, my New York skincare, and my travel skincare,” explains 2020 cover model Bock.” Overall my favorites are Dr. Barbara Sturm SPF drops, Vintners Daughter Serum, Summer Friday's Jet Lag Mask and Clarins Body Oil. When I'm traveling, I always have Fresh rose lip balm. It's hydrating, has a soft pink color that enhances my lips, and has SPF so they don't get dry in the sun."

Camille Kostek Is a Fan of Trader Joe's Products

"My skincare routine is simple but effective,” says Kostek, 2021 SI Swimsuit model. “I begin by wetting my face with warm water, then use a makeup wipe to remove as much of the makeup as possible. I follow that with a gentle foaming or gel cleanser. Moisturizing is a step I never miss. My skin needs to be hydrated as much as possible, especially through the night. I take this time to apply moisturizer in circular motions upwards on the face and neck. I then take about a half dropper of rose hip oil to blend into the skin with the moisturizer. This creates a healthy, beautiful glow and hydration in my skin. I finish it off by spritzing rose water all over my face and neck. I have found that plant-based products work the best. Some of my favorite products are Double Serum by Clarins, Rose Water spray from Trader Joe's, Enzyme Cleansing Gel by Mario Badescu, and Clarins lip oil. And I can't forget my lips. I will swipe some lavender chapstick or Clarins lip oil on my lips to seal the deal."

Jasmine Sanders Always Travels with Dior Capture Youth Serum

"I use the Mario Badescu botanical exfoliating scrub,” says 2020 cover model Sanders. ”I use it on my face, followed by the Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment by Sunday Riley and the Pink Drink Toner by Sunday Riley. I put on my favorite Dior Capture Youth Serum and then my KNC Supabalm lip balm to keep my lips hydrated. In fact, I always bring my Dior Capture Youth Serum whenever I travel."

Myla Dalbesio Swears by a Microneedle

"The number one life-changing product that I cannot recommend enough is an at-home microneedler,” says Dalbesio, SI Swimsuit model. “It doesn't need to be anything fancy; you can get one on Amazon for $20 that works great. I use it on my face a couple of times a week, then follow with REN's AHA toner. It stings like crazy, but it changed my skin and solved my problems with cystic hormonal acne. If you're dealing with ‘maskne,' definitely try this. Just make sure you ease into it, and follow with your serums and a good moisturizer. I love SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum, Ole Henriksen's Invigorating Night Transformation Gel, and most of all, Dr. Loretta's Intense Replenishing Serum. It feels like nothing else I've ever used, so moisturizing and luxurious. It really feels like I'm treating my skin every time I use it. I finish with REN's Overnight Recovery Balm. It's thick, like vaseline, so it kind of seals everything in."

Lorena Duran Loves Caudalie

"My skin routine consists of always being hydrated and never forgetting to remove the excess product at the end of the day,” 2020 Swimsuit rookie Duran says. “Now I am testing Caudalie products, and I am very happy with the result. And I always travel with my Caudalie Mint Mist, it's refreshing."
