When it comes to sweet and sexy holiday dressing for date night, SI Swimsuit rookie Sixtine is our go-to source for outfit inspo. The 26-year-old New York City resident loves styling a lingerie-forward look for a night out in the city, so we chatted with her to learn how to put one together this holiday season.

How to style lingerie as outerwear

Sixtine, who describes her personal style as a mix between Paris and New York fashion, gravitates toward a classic, basic aesthetic in her day-to-day looks. She says when she’s styling a lingerie-focused look, layering is key.

“My biggest thing is layering on added pieces so it looks less like, ‘Oh she’s wearing something you’re supposed to be wearing at home,’” she says with a laugh. “So a big go-to for me is putting like sheer tops on top of it, or bringing in elements of like a fun fur jacket, things like that. [I love] adding pieces on top of it so it looks more intentional rather than just wearing lingerie as is.”

The model and influencer also assures that there are subtle ways to rock lingerie out of the house, so you can ease yourself into the aesthetic in a way that’s comfortable to you. Sixtine suggests wearing a mesh top with a lacy bra underneath to safely try out the trend.

“Get a long sleeve black mesh top, it covers your arms, you get the sleeve, you get the comfort of wearing a full top, but then there’s, like, the peeks of lace and sexiness under it,” she says.

Sixtine’s go-to combo for styling lingerie is a bustier top paired with a black skirt, tights and boots. And to elevate the look for the holidays, she’s choosing to incorporate trendy bows, pops of red and velvet, and accessorizing with her favorite gold jewelry pieces. Here’s exactly what she’s wearing out this holiday season for date night.

Sixtine’s go-to holiday date night look

Shelly Push-Up in Black, $32.97 (adoreme.com)

This top features push-up cups and a delicate, lacy high-neck, and is also available in purple and red. While Adore Me is Sixtine’s go-to brand, she’s also a big fan of Thistle and Spire and Victoria’s Secret for lingerie.

That’s Hot Mini V-Waist Skort, $44.95 (garageclothing.com)

Regardless of the season, Sixtine’s go-to combo for date night is a skirt of some kind and a pair of cute boots.

“In the summer, it’s like a jean skirt and cowboy boots, and in the winter it’s like a black mini skirt or sometimes a long skirt,” she says. “I play up with mini versus long and then leather boots.”

T-Back Cami Shrug Set, $17.50 (garageclothing.com)

Throw a cute shrug over the bustier top, as Sixtine does, for a bit of warmth during the winter. She points out that it’s also a great additional layer if you don’t want to show off your arms.

“Figure out what you like and then add on top of that rather than trying to force something that’s not in your comfort range, because you can fake confidence to a point, but if you don’t feel comfortable, it’s just going to be so much harder,” she says.

Backseam Sheer Rip-Resist Tights, $99 (sheertex.com)

“I really like tights with a seam down the back,” Sixtine says. “I think it’s kind of like a nice flirty added step versus just like plain tights.”

These ones are made with rip-resistant material, so you can focus on having fun on your date rather than worrying about getting a run in your tights.

Vince Camuto Sangeti Extra Wide-Calf Boot, $229 (vincecamuto.com)

Sixtine incorporates the color of the season into her ensemble with these stunning dark mahogany boots.

“For winter and more of like a holiday vibe, I’ve been doing leg warmers or really high socks that go above the boot so that it adds more coziness to it,” she adds.
