SI Swimsuit Cover Model Kim Petras’s Barbiecore One-Piece Is a Major Summer Trend That’s About to Be Everywhere
As one of four 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue cover models, German pop star Kim Petras was photographed by Yu Tsai in Los Angeles earlier this year.
“I was so excited when I got the call to be in Sports Illustrated,” Petras told SI Swimsuit. “It’s very iconic, and a lot of very iconic people have done it before, so [it was a] big dream come true for me.”
While the history-making, Grammy Award-winning artist donned a gold sparkly bikini top by Natalia Fedner for her cover image, Petras’s 2023 photo shoot included several additional incredible looks, including a bright blue one-piece, an elegant black long-sleeved number with gold beads and a chest cutout and a Barbiecore-inspired pink one-piece swimsuit that’s perfect for summer.
