Met Gala 2021: The Best Dressed List

Our favorite looks from fashion’s biggest night out.

The annual Met Gala is referred to as fashion’s biggest night out. It should also be known as the internet’s biggest night out. Last night as the stars took to the red carpet, us mortals took to our phones to discuss the looks -- what wowed and what fell short. It is not only an event for attendees, but for us at home on our couches as well.

The theme “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” brought about looks with nods to political statements. Soccer standout Megan Rapinoe accessorized her look with a bag that read “In gay we trust” while the back of the off-the-shoulder white dress Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wore was embellished with the message “Tax the rich” in red lettering. Many were inspired by their upbringing in America. Others celebrated in dresses by American designers.
