Anne de Paula and Joel Embiid Welcome a Baby Boy

Thursday night NBA superstar Joel Embiid took to Instagram to announce the arrival of his baby boy with longtime girlfriend, SI Swimsuit model Anne de Paula.

“We are so blessed and fortunate to welcome our little boy in this family. First of 11 or more?” Embiid joked to his nearly five million fans. “I’m just trying to build a soccer team but for real I’m so excited for the future and my life has a new meaning. Kudos to @annedepaula_ for being so strong giving me the greatest gift our life can offer.”

The name has special meaning to the couple, who have been together since 2018. Embiid’s younger brother Arthur was struck by a truck in Cameroon in 2014 and died at the age of 13.

Anne first shot for SI Swimsuit back in 2017 for the annual SI Swimsuit model search. The Brazilan-born beauty won a spot in the 2018 rookie class landing her a shoot in Nevis with photographer Josie Clough. Since then she has joined us in Kenya and, most recently, in the Dominican Republic. The last shoot was in February -- when she was already pregnant.
