Josephine Skriver Wins our Hearts in SI Swim 2021

The 2020 SI Swimsuit Rookie of the Year is a fierce advocate for LGBTQ+.

Josephine Skriver has been a powerhouse ever since the start of her modeling career. During her Fashion Week debut in 2011, the Denmark native walked for Calvin Klein, Rag & Bone, Balenciaga, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Yves Saint Lauren, and closed for Prada in Milan. Since then she’s worked for Armani and Gucci, became a Victoria’s Secret “Angel” in 2016 and was named a face for Maybelline three years ago. Skriver, who made her first SI Swimsuit appearance in 2020, uses all that exposure to have a voice. The 27-year-old, who was raised by a lesbian mother and a gay father, is an advocate for global LGBTQ+ rights and was a speaker at the Stonewall 50 celebration in New York City alongside Lady Gaga. She recently launched a fitness label, JOJA, with fellow model Jasmine Tookes, sharing various workouts and tips for living a healthy lifestyle.

MJ Day: Why Josephine?

It was an incredibly easy decision for us to work again with Josephine, SI Swimsuit’s Rookie of the Year in 2020. Josephine inspires women, fiercely advocates for the LGBTQ+ community and carries herself like a true professional. On top of the fact that she can talk a serious football game as one of Raiders Nation's most passionate superfans, she is a natural beauty with a heart of gold. Josephine is as multidimensional as it gets, recently expanding her presence by co-founding an Instagram-based fitness and well-being platform @JoJa where people can come for workout and wellness instruction and insight.

Tune in every day at 9 AM EST to see who will be gracing the pages of SI Swimsuit 2021! Follow @SI_Swimsuit to keep up with all the exciting news!
