Those are the six names you need to know as the ladies of our first-ever open casting call take over the Big Apple! Ahead of their photo shoot at Mahogany Bay Village in Belize later this month, the #SISwimSearch final six visited Good Morning America to share their stories with the country.
"It was a long process for me," finalist Allie Ayers told SI Swimsuit Editor MJ Day of learning to accept her body as it is. "It finally came through understanding loving yourself and committing to loving every piece of you, even the ones you don't want to love... Eventually in time, that gives way to a very real love for exactly who you are, as you are."
These six beautiful women originally submitted videos to Instagram as a part of SI's Instagram-based model search. Out of over 5,000 entries, 35 were selected to come to Brooklyn for an in-person interview and photo shoot. From there, we narrowed down the group to 15, who joined us in Miami to help us debut our first-ever branded swimwear and activewear line.
But now, we're down to just six women . And we couldn't adore, admire or be in awe of them any more. From our security guard turned runway goddess, to our NFL cheerleader turned midi model, these women embody everything it means to be a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model. They're as bold and beautiful inside as they are on the outside.
While in New York City, the six #SISwimSearch finalists will be staying at the beautiful Hotel Indigo on the Lower East Side. The hotel is serving as an urban oasis for the ladies as they embark today on a whirlwind press tour in the city. The women will also be hosting a private cocktail party at Mr. Purple, the vibrant rooftop bar at the top of Hotel Indigo. With an elegant ambiance and even more refined menu, it will be the perfect backdrop as Sports Illustrated showcases its debut swimwear line for the first time in NYC.
