Perfecting the At-Home Workout with Kate Bock
Take one look at Kate Bock's Instagram account, and you'll get tired just from watching her intense workout videos. But like the rest of us, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model had to swap gym sessions with friends for solo at-home workouts during the pandemic. Not surprisingly, it can be tough to stay motivated and get a good sweat on without all the typical gear. Luckily, Bock found ways to stay on track from the safety of her home.
"I really notice how much better I feel on my body if I've moved in a day," Bock says. "That could mean a 20-minute yoga stretch, a set of intense cardio sprints or lifting some weights. You never regret a workout once it's done!"
As far as her go-to at-home workout routine, it's all about having a variety to stay motivated. "I try to switch it up," she says. "I'll go on a run, take my puppy Vestry on a long walk, do a Livestream yoga class, a Megan Roup cardio or sculpt class. There are so many options now."
Yes, some of the SI Swimsuit 2020 cover model's favorite workouts include classes from Megan Roup's The Sculpt Society, which is known for dance cardio and targeted toning. Melissa Wood's yoga is another one of her top choices, focusing on low impact Pilates moves to sculpt long, lean muscles. And she loves Sami Clark's workouts for a good full-body routine.
While Bock certainly has the sweat sessions down pat, we were curious just what gear she always had on hand to get it done. And it's surprisingly very little. No heavyweights, machines or barbells are needed. "My essential at-home workout gear is a TRX, ankle weights and a yoga mat," she explains.
Of course, the fashion influencer also has some essentials when it comes to her workout outfits as well. "My go-to's are a pair of leggings, a sports bra, high socks and Nike sneakers," she adds. As far as her favorite brands, the dog mom swears by Set Active, Alo, Joah Brown and La Piel to make any gym session look runway-worthy.
