Georgina Burke Brings Lace to the Streets in Her Stunning Sheer Top and Blazer

The SI Swimsuit model embraced edgy monochrome for a winter night out in the city.

Winter fashion calls for moody monochrome. We don’t make the rules, we’re just following the lead of all our favorite fashionable stars. The consensus seems to be that dark, uniform and edgy is in. At least, that’s what Australian model Georgina Burke’s latest outfit tells us.

She recently stepped out onto the New York streets in an outfit more than fit for a glamorous winter evening in the city. Her look consisted of a black pantsuit, including a pair of straight-leg trousers and an oversized blazer. Underneath the unbuttoned jacket, she wore a black lace top with an intricate design that peeked out from beneath the waistband of her pants. In other words, she took the business-meets-glam idea and ran with it, crafting an office-inspired look edgy enough for the streets of the big city.

Needless to say, the SI Swimsuit model taught us a lesson in seasonal dressing: lean into the moody tones. Heavier fabrics somehow seem more appropriate in darker tones, and the season definitely has a weightier feel to it—so indulge it.

That’s not to say, of course, that pops of color aren’t welcome. They certainly are. But a winter night out in New York? Edgy is always going to work. And edgy calls for moody monochrome, in Burke’s book. The next time you’re throwing together a seasonal outfit for a night out on the town, take the model’s look as inspo. You won’t regret it.
