Basketball courtside fashion is slowly turning into its own genre and celebrities, influencers and stylists are certainly not disappointing. The latest woman to catch our eye for her super cool, chic and comfortable sporting event ensemble is Kaia Gerber.

The model, who was just featured on the cover of WSJ Magazine’s spring 2024 women’s fashion issue, put a sophisticated, scholarly spin on her classic edgy style as she attended the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs basketball game at Crypto.com Arena on Feb. 23.

The 22-year-old pulled a page from Hailey Bieber’s book—or should we say wardrobe—and donned a leather trench coat. She paired the timeless outerwear with a graphic Miaou tank top with a face design on it, black elevated leggings and chunky white athletic sneakers.

Gerber, who is the daughter of 1990s supermodel icon Cindy Crawford and Casamigos cofounder Rande Gerber, accessorized with dainty gold hoop earrings, a pendant necklace and super cute rectangle-shaped eyeglasses.

She opted for a simple model-off-duty glam look, including fluffy, full brows and a matte mauve lip, and her medium-length brown locks were straight, smooth and freshly blown out.

“I would say I’m a tomboy, but I’ve always been very influenced by the French ‘cool girls’ like Jane Birkin and Françoise Hardy. I like simple, comfortable pieces—trousers, sneakers, and blazers,” the Kaia Gerber Book Club creator said to describe her personal style. “I think investing in clothes is smart, but I can’t justify buying trendy, expensive clothes. [My style is inspired by] Malibu, surf and skate culture mixed with this Parisian chicness.”
