Look: SI Swimsuit Models Dress to Impress at the 2023 Met Gala
The year’s biggest night in fashion occurred on Monday evening, and the 2023 Met Gala involved an array of fabulous looks.
SI Swimsuit models like Carolyn Murphy, Anitta, Ashley Graham and Naomi Campbell showed up and slayed. The naked dress trend is ongoing, pearls have proven their timelessness, silk trains are making a comeback and bows details are appearing just in time for summer.
This year’s theme and dress code honored German-born couturier Karl Lagerfeld, whose successful career involved creations with Chanel, Fendi and Chloé. The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Lagerfeld gallery opens on May 5.
Here’s a recap of some of our favorite looks worn by SI Swimsuit models at the May 1 event.
Anitta
The Brazilian singer rocked a marvelous black gown featuring a structured hood and silky train from Marc Jacobs. She accessorized with long white gloves, a gold chain and sky-high platform heels.
Carolyn Murphy
The supermodel and actress set herself apart from the crowd in a youthful yellow tulle ball gown featuring a strapless neckline and black bow detailing from the Chanel Métiers d’Art 2017 collection.
Serena Williams
The soon-to-be mom of two rocked a gorgeous Gucci ensemble and debuted her baby bump.
Ashley Graham
The Maxim Hot 100 cover star stepped out in her most dramatic Met Gala look yet: a custom recreation of a vintage Chanel haute couture piece by Harris Reed.
Kim Kardashian
The reality TV star was dripping in pearls in a Schiaparelli original. She showed off her slim waist and curves in the figure-hugging corset-inspired gown and paired it with a gorgeous diamond choker necklace from Lorraine Schwartz.
Irina Shayk
The supermodel tapped into a bridal aesthetic for her look. Shayk donned a silky white dress by Yohji Yamamoto, featuring rosettes along the neckline and funky twisted straps.

Lily Aldridge
The SI Swimsuit model worked with Oscar de la Renta’s designers to create a Karl Lagerfeld-inspired chic black-and-pink gown featuring dramatic bows all over.
Gigi Hadid
The Next In Fashion star nailed the naked dress trend with her custom Givenchy look. Hadid channeled her inner grunge aesthetic in an edgy black mixed-materials gown featuring a strapless asymmetrical neckline, long train and hip cut-outs.
Naomi Campbell
The supermodel donned a gorgeous silk pink pleated gown with sequins from Chanel’s spring-summer 2010 haute couture collection.
Brooklyn Decker
The 2010 cover model opted for something more casual, but she still looked like a total dream. Decker donned a white Chanel A-line dress with tie-up straps and accessorized with a dainty tiara.
