Belgian model Rose Bertram made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2015 with Yu Tsai in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She posed again for a body painting feature that year and returned to the magazine in ’16 and ’17. 

She welcomed her oldest daughter, 5-year-old Naleya, in 2018, the same year she made history as the first pregnant women on the cover of Vogue Netherlands. The 28-year-old is also a mom to 2-year-old Zaylee. She shares her girls with her ex-boyfriend, professional soccer player Gregory van der Wiel.

At the time of her history-making cover, she posted a heartfelt message on Instagram alongside the photo.

“The first dutch VOGUE @nlvogue pregnancy cover in History!!!! IS THIS REAL!??? 😫 Most of you know that i’m not the standard model in terms of (height/seizes),” Bertram wrote, noting that she entered the industry at 13 and was told by multiple people that she wouldn’t succeed. “This is exactly what made me work harder and if you know me then you obviously know that i don’t take no for an answer. I started travelling by myself, contacting photographers (working on my book) many countless nights without my family & i also had to quit school when i was 17.”

The We The Curl founder added that a Vogue cover had always been a dream of hers and she was proud that she was able to share her inspiring story along with the images. As an added bonus, she got to do all of it with her baby.
