5 Brilliant Photos of the 2024 SI Swim Rookie Lori Harvey in Mexico

The model will grace the pages of the 60th anniversary issue in May.

To Lori Harvey, beauty is not about external appearance. Sitting beachfront on the set of her SI Swimsuit debut in Mexico, the 27-year-old model reflected on exactly what the word means to her. “Beauty to me, I think starts internally—having a good spirit, [being] sweet and kind, how you treat people,” she says.

But it’s about more than that, too. It’s about self-confidence. “Being confident in yourself, owning it, working it,” and “embracing” your body “flaws and all,” are all integral to the sort of confidence that manifests in external beauty, according to Harvey.

This is precisely what she believes the SI Swimsuit franchise has done a good job of highlighting throughout the years. The brand “is just all about inclusion, body positivity, confidence,” she says. It’s about “owning [beauty], rocking it and embracing being a woman.”

Harvey’s confidence is exactly what makes her a perfect fit for the issue. Growing up, she says there were things about her skin and her body that dulled her self-assurance. She has dealt with rosacea for some time and admits she allowed it to drag her down. But not anymore. She’s finally learned not only how to “handle it,” but also how to embrace it. “If I get red, get splotchy, get breakouts, it’s fine. It’s a part of life,” she says.

Growing up, SI Swimsuit was something Harvey dreamed of being part of. And while she’s excited about the feature, there’s perhaps no one more thrilled than her mother, Marjorie. “My mom is so excited. She’s already texting me, ‘Send me BTS [footage]. I want to see everything,” Harvey says. “I can’t wait until she’s able to have the physical copy in her hand. I know she’s going to go out and buy every single copy she can find.”

Her mom’s excitement may just match the SI Swimsuit team’s enthusiasm. We are thrilled to have Harvey join the family and are blown away by the brilliant photos that she posed for in Mexico. Below are five of her top photos from the trip.
