We Can’t Stop Staring at These 5 Pics From Bar Refaeli’s 2009 SI Swim Cover Photoshoot
SI Swimsuit veteran Bar Refaeli has nailed each and every single one of her many breathtaking magazine features. From her 2007 rookie photoshoot in Jamaica to her studio session with Walter Iooss Jr. featuring sports star cameos in 2012, the supermodel is a brand icon and we’re always in the mood to browse through some of her throwback photos.
“It was fun because we were just being silly, and it wasn’t all about posing; it was just about the energy and the vibe around it, and we had a blast with the three of them,” she told The Cut about posing with Rafael Nadal, Chris Paul, and Michael Phelps in ’12. “I’m, like, obsessed with sports, and I follow sports, so for me, every time I meet an athlete I’m really, really, um, like a 6-year-old girl.”
She was also named Maxim’s Hot 100 cover star and the Sexiest Woman Alive that year.
The Israeli model double-dipped in her debut SI Swimsuit year and was also captured in New York City alongside rock band Aerosmith. In 2008, Refaeli traveled to Israel with Raphael Mazzucco and worked with him again the following year for her jaw-dropping cover photoshoot in Canounan Island, the Grenadines. The 38-year-old returned to the magazine in 2010 and was photographed by Walter Iooss Jr. in the Maldives. Her final and most recent brand feature was a star-studded in-studio legends photoshoot in honor of the franchise’s 50th anniversary.
In addition to being a model, Refaeli is also a mom. She shares her three kids, Liv, Elle and David, with her husband, businessman Adi Ezra.
Below are five of our favorite snaps from her 2009 cover photoshoot with Raphael Mazzucco.
Now through Nov. 1, 100% of SI Swimsuit’s portion of proceeds from cover prints purchased here will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund, which is helping to support the people and places of Maui affected by the recent wildfires.
