Martha Stewart made history with her SI Swimsuit feature this year and it was definitely a moment to remember. The 82-year-old entrepreneur became the oldest woman to land the coveted cover of the iconic magazine after her photoshoot with Ruven Afanador in the Dominican Republic.

The Martha Stewart Podcast host is an Emmy Award-winning TV host, the author of 99 lifestyle books and the founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. She has built an empire around finding the best way to accomplish a task, complete a craft or cook a dish—and sharing it with her millions of fans and followers all around the world.

Stewart has one daughter, Alexis, and two grandchildren, Jude and Truman.

“It’s quite an amazing accomplishment I think to have created such beautiful content, such useful content and to celebrate the home and home-keeping in the way that we’ve celebrated it making a home really the center of a life,” Stewart said of her work. “I do not believe in just emptying your closets because it’s the thing to do, I believe in careful editing. I believe and careful organization. I think that that’s what appealed to the vast number of my fans as being the creator of a vast amount of useful, evergreen content. Legacy is what you’re doing right now, tomorrow, next week, the week after. Keep it going for as long as you can because it might be better than anything you’ve done before.”
