A legend of the SI Swimsuit brand, Christie Brinkley first posed for the magazine in 1975, when she traveled to Mexico with photographer Walter Iooss Jr. She’s since returned to the fold for nine additional issues, and landed three consecutive cover features between 1979 and ’81, when she posed in Seychelles, the British Virgin Islands and Florida, respectively.

While we’d be hard pressed to select a favorite of Brinkley’s photoshoots over the years, her 2017 SI Swimsuit Issue feature was particularly special, as she was photographed alongside her daughters, Sailor Brinkley Cook and Alexa Ray Joel, in Turks and Caicos. At the time, Brinkley was 63 and noted that the occasion was a true dream come true.

“This is a real full circle moment for me,” Brinkley stated while on location. “I can get very emotional about this. How many years ago, I was that insecure girl hoping that I would be good enough for the magazine. So to see my daughters now having the same thoughts I had, and to be able to see them actually be there on the job, was definitely a big moment.”

While Brinkley admitted to People that she wasn’t initially keen on posing for the issue again in her 60s, she noted that she was thrilled to jump back into a bikini again to pose beside her daughters. “I thought, ‘Those days are over,’” Brinkley told the outlet. “But to get to do it with my girls, I thought, ‘One last go!’”

We’re so glad she did! Below are a few of our favorite images Emmanuelle Hauguel captured of Brinkley  in Turks and Caicos.
