6 Sensational Photos of Hailey Clauson in the Dominican Republic

The former cover girl returns to the SI Swimsuit Issue for her seventh year.

Hailey Clauson made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2015 and landed the cover the following year, after being photographed in Turks and Caicos by James Macari. The 28-year-old model returns to the fold for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue. For this year’s magazine, Clauson reunited with Macari, this time in the Dominican Republic, for a Barbiecore-inspired photo shoot on the beach. It marks her seventh year with the publication.

“The night before the shoot, I try on a bunch of swimsuits. They usually narrow down the looks in half, so we only shoot our favorite swimsuits,” Clauson explained to People in an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at her photo shoot. “I love that they still do the fitting photos on a Polaroid camera. The fitting is always so much fun! It’s just me and some the team from SI. Lots of laughing and fun!”

The modeling agency co-owner and creative director traveled to Cap Cana, an exclusive private community located in the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic, for this year’s feature. 

“I can’t get over how amazing this location in Tropicalia, Dominican Republic, was!” she told People. “We were lucky enough to have a private beach completely to ourselves.”
