Jasmine Sanders has been part of the SI Swimsuit family for the past five years, ever since her debut with the publication in 2019, when she was named Rookie of the Year. The German-born model landed the cover of the SI Swimsuit Issue the following year, after being photographed by Yu Tsai in Bali.

In addition to her work with SI Swimsuit, the 31-year-old has also collaborated with notable brands including Free People, Nike, Moschino and Victoria’s Secret. Sanders is also a social media influencer, known as “Golden Barbie” to her 6.1 million Instagram followers. The model previously told SI Swimsuit that she enjoys using her platform to promote the things that matter most to her, like protesting for equality.

“Being a Black woman, this year is the year that I’m the most proud of being who I am,” she said in 2021. “I did all of these amazing things and built this platform. It wouldn’t have been anything if I didn’t take the time to scream about the things that are happening around this country. There’s not going to be a second that I stop speaking about it. We can all stand together. We can all make a change. You can do that. You feel it.”

For this year’s SI Swimsuit Issue, Sanders was photographed in Puerto Rico, where she posed for photographer Ben Watts. In honor of the magazine’s release, below are six of our favorite images from Sanders’s 2023 photo shoot.
