Maggie Rawlins posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue in 2021, when the registered nurse-turned-model traveled to Hollywood, Fla., for her brand feature. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the South Carolina native returned to the frontlines in New York City, a choice she told People “was the right thing to do.”

Besides her desire to give back to her community, Rawlins uses her platform to share her unique—and inspirational—viewpoints on beauty.

“Beauty to me is, I think, in the way someone carries themself,” she previously told SI Swimsuit. “When somebody is so unashamed of who they are and they just can’t help but be themselves, I find that super attractive and super beautiful.”

In addition to her work with SI Swimsuit, Rawlins has landed covers of Grazia Bulgaria and Vogue Thailand. She is currently represented by The Lions and Premium Models.

“I just want to be able to speak positive light to younger generations,” Rawlins added of her mission. “I think about my niece and growing up in this social media world where women are looked at in a negative light and talked about in a negative way and every part of their body is scrutinized when it just should be celebrated.”

Below, we’re throwing it back to a few of our favorite snapshots of Rawlins from her SI Swimsuit feature in Hollywood, Fla., with James Macari.
