It is always a pleasure to have our legends return to the pages of the SI Swimsuit Issue years after their initial debut. It proves the strength of the brand and is a great opportunity to catch up with the models and learn more about their latest career pursuits.

This was certainly true when Paulina Porizkova, who has made appearances in 10 different SI Swimsuit magazines—including the 50th anniversary legends photoshoot—returned to the SI Swimsuit set in 2019 for another go. That year, she traveled to Kenya with photographer Yu Tsai for a vibrant feature in the magazine.

At the time, her photoshoot made her the oldest model to grace the pages of the annual issue—an incredible feat for the model, who was then 55. While that milestone has since been surpassed by others, it was a historic moment.

This year marks the 40th year since Porizkova’s SI Swimsuit debut in 1983, when she took to Jamaica with photographer Walter Iooss Jr. In honor of the incredible anniversary—and her incredible work modeling for the issue for so many years—we’re throwing it back to that 2019 return.

Below are six of our favorites from her most recent SI Swimsuit photoshoot in Kenya.

Now through Nov. 1, 100% of SI Swimsuit’s portion of proceeds from cover prints purchased here will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund, which is helping to support the people and places of Maui affected by the recent wildfires.
