Sailor Brinkley Cook made a splash during her 2017 SI Swimsuit debut in Turks and Caicos. But we never doubted her abilities, as brand legend Christie Brinkley is her mom. The 25-year-old posed for photographer Emmanuelle Hauguel alongside her half sister, Alexa Ray Joel, and the 10-time SI Swimsuit star, who is best known for landing three consecutive covers in ’79, ’80 and ’81.

The New York native, who followed in her mother’s footsteps and is building a name for herself in the industry, returned to the fold as a rookie in 2018. She was captured by Yu Tsai on the breathtaking beaches of Aruba and double-dipped that year for another special and powerful in-studio feature titled “In Her Own Words.”

“It was a really beautiful thing because it’s a female-powered project so I walked in [to the shoot] and it’s my friend Mary doing makeup and my friend Taylor doing the photos and my other friend Robin doing the videos,” the Scared + Divine founder told People about her unique experience posing with nothing but words painted all over her body. “I feel like I learn more and more about who I am and what I want to give to the world every day, so I could add a million words and take out a million words every day. But I put ‘work in progress’ across my back because I feel like that’s a big thing—we’re all just works in progress trying to better ourselves in a healthy way.”
