8 Astounding Photos of Olympian Simone Biles in Mexico

The professional gymnast and newlywed was featured in the SI Swimsuit Issue in 2017 and ’19.

Simone Biles was photographed by Walter Chin in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Simone Biles is arguably the best gymnast in history. The two-time Olympian has seven Olympic medals to her name—four gold, one silver and two bronze—and is tied with Shannon Miller for the most medals ever won by an American gymnast.

In addition to being a professional athlete, Biles is a two-time SI Swimsuit model, having posed for the magazine in 2017 and ’19. Her first photo shoot with the franchise found her in Houston with photographer James Macari. She traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with visual artist Walter Chin for her sophomore feature two years later.

The mental health advocate and dog mom is an ambassador for GK Gymnastics, where she offers a line of leotards for young athletes, and she’s also a partner with activewear brand ATHLETA.

Earlier this month, the 26-year-old tied the knot with NFL player Jonathan Owens in a destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Biles wore a gorgeous Galia Lahav gown for the May 6 event, and the two exchanged vows in front of family and friends in a lavish beachfront ceremony.

To celebrate the newlyweds, we’re throwing it back to our favorite eight photos from Biles’s SI Swimsuit photo shoot in Mexico four years ago.
