8 Enchanting SI Swim Photos of Lais Ribeiro in California

Lais Ribeiro first posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue in 2017, when the Brazilian model traveled to Indonesia with photographer James Macari. She returned to the fold in ’18 and ’19, when her photoshoots took her to the Bahamas and Costa Rica, respectively. After a brief hiatus, Ribeiro posed for the 2021 SI Swimsuit Issue in Sacramento, Calif., where she donned a number of dreamy looks.

While the 32-year-old is known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, she’s also worked with notable brands like Dolce and Gabbana, Christian Dior and Ralph Lauren. During her most recent sit-down interview with SI Swimsuit, Ribeiro noted that being in the modeling industry has allowed her to become more comfortable in her own skin. She’s also conscious about the changes that need to take place in the fashion and modeling industries to make the space more inclusive. 

“I do see a lot of changing and empowerment in the industry,” Ribeiro stated. “But we have so many ways to go, you know, but at least people are talking about [it], people are really like changing. It changed so much, I think our industry was so in the box, you know. I think we’re just starting to open the box, and it’s like a long way to go, I think.”
