Abby Dahlkemper Is an Athletic Goddess in These 5 Bikini Photos

The pro soccer player posed for the 2019 SI Swimsuit Issue in St. Lucia.

Professional soccer player Abby Dahlkemper is known for her success on the pitch, but the athlete also tried on her supermodel hat when she posed for the 2019 SI Swimsuit Issue.

“I’m trying to channel my inner swimsuit model, which I’ve never done [before],” she said while on location in St. Lucia with photographer Ben Watts. “I saw a couple previews and I feel gorgeous.”

We can certainly attest to that—Dahlkemper worked all her angles as she posed for the camera in several tiny bikinis and sporty one-pieces. She even had the opportunity to show off her skills for the camera, and was captured with a soccer ball in several snapshots.

The athlete is a defender for the San Diego Wave FC, and helped lead the USWNT to its fourth World Cup championship the same year she posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue alongside fellow soccer stars Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and Crystal Dunn.

After being sidelined last year due to a back injury, and undergoing subsequent surgery, Dahlkemper made her return to the pitch this summer. She and her San Diego Wave FC teammates played in this year’s NWSL semi-finals earlier this month, where they were defeated by OL Reign 1-0. The team, however, won the 2023 NWSL Shield, awarded to the team with the best regular season record.

“Thankful to be a part of such a special group this year,” Dahlkemper wrote on Instagram of the season. “Although we came up a bit short of our goal, Shield Winners in year two ain’t too bad 😏 Thank you to our fans for the unwavering support all season 🌊💙.”
