Nigerian-American model Adaora posed for two back-to-back SI Swimsuit Issues, starting with her astounding photoshoot in Sydney/Cairns, Australia in 2012 with Walter Iooss Jr. She returned to the fold the following year, this time traveling to Namibia with Kayt Jones.

It’s clear that the styling for Adaora’s first brand photoshoot was way ahead of its time, as the model posed in several red swimsuits, sporting the color of the current season more than a decade ago. From frilly two-pieces to red-and-white striped string bikinis, Adaora rocked them all.

In addition to her work with SI Swimsuit, the Connecticut native has modeled for notable brands like Garnier, Abercrombie & Fitch, JC Penney and Macy’s. Today, Adaora is a wife and proud mom of two who still works in the industry. She is currently represented by New York Models Direct, NEXT Management and Genetic Models Management in New York City, Miami and Los Angeles, respectively.

And while Adaora landed her first gig with the magazine in 2012, she was a finalist in the brand’s Model Search back in 2007.

“I was elated when I became a finalist in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search because it was my dream to be a Sports Illustrated model,” she told Aislin Magazine of the experience. “It was my first time being flown out to LA and my first television appearance, which was beyond anything that I had imagined for myself.”

We’re so glad Adaora persevered and didn’t give up on her dreams of landing in the magazine—which led to the creation of the following incredible images.
