Alyssa Miller Is Sensational in These 6 Bodypaint Swimsuit Photos
Model and musician Alyssa Miller made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2011, when she participated in not one but three photoshoots with the brand. She traveled to Fiji with photographer Walter Iooss Jr. and Hawai’i with Bjorn Iooss for a duo of beachside features. The California native also participated in a bodypaint photoshoot in a New York studio, where she worked with makeup artist Joanne Gair and visual artist Stewart Shining.
After that incredible trifecta, Miller returned to the fold the following year, and was captured in the Seychelles by James Macari. In 2013, she reunited with Macari on Hayman Island in Australia, and participated in a second bodypaint feature in the Bahamas, for a total of six different brand photoshoots in just three years.
Miller started modeling at a young age, and her work with brands like Italian Vogue and Stella McCartney allowed her to travel around the world. And despite having so much industry experience, she admitted to Free People that body image and self-love is something she occasionally still struggles with.
“I hear so many women talk so negatively about their bodies and it’s so useless! We tell ourselves and everyone who will listen how much we dislike ourselves,” Miller told the outlet. “Don’t get me wrong, there have been and will be many more shoots where I feel anxious about my body or my skin not being perfect, and I would look at myself in the mirror with love and acceptance and tell myself I looked great and it would actually make me feel better. I would step onto set with that much more confidence, because nothing is more empowering than accepting where you are and loving it.”
Below are a few of our favorite photos from Miller’s 2011 bodypaint photoshoot in which her confidence shines through.
