Brazilian singer Anitta is used to singing in front of a camera. She’s known for dropping some of the most glamorous and racy music videos ever (which we always stream ASAP and are huge fans of).

The 2021 SI Swimsuit model stepped slightly out of her comfort zone when she posed for photographer James Macari in a series of bold and edgy bikinis and one-pieces in Hollywood, Fla.

The five-time MTV Europe Music Award winner went viral for her hit “Envolver” the same year as her magazine feature. The 30-year-old, who was born Larissa de Macedo Machado, broke the record for the first solo Latin song to top the Spotify Global Daily chart, earning her a Guinness World Record.

“I love to show that I can be versatile. Since I was a little girl, I’m not just one type of person. You know, sometimes I’m crazy, sometimes I’m serious, sometimes I’m sexy, sometimes I’m romantic,” she said while on location. “Not even myself can understand myself sometimes. The message is always learning. I think sometimes people are too stuck on things they got and I think it’s a problem when people are too worried about their image in front of other people because they are too worried about what other people will think and not what you want to do and you don’t need to make sense.”

Below are five of our favorite photos from Anitta’s SI Swimsuit feature in 2021.
