SI Swimsuit 2020 Rookie: Brooks Nader

Get to know SI Swimsuit 2020 rookie Brooks Nader!

Had you ever been to Bali before?
No! It had been on my list for a while so I was stoked to visit.

If you had three wishes, what would they be?
I’d wish that 1) my whole family lived in New York City with me; 2) I could teleport myself instead of having to spend so much time on planes; and 3) world hunger would be eradicated. Through my work with City Harvest I learned that one in three children don’t know where their next meal is coming from. That fact is something that regularly makes me cry.

If you could have personally witnessed any event in history, what would it be?
The Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William.

What is something that you have never done that you want to do?
Skydiving

What’s your most embarrassing moment?
There are so many. There was the time when I was watching Olympus Has Fallen and asked if it was based on a true story. There was also the time when I was on set in Germany for a sleepwear shoot and hadn’t slept the night before (thank you jet lag). One of the shots was in a bed and I fell asleep during the shoot and started snoring.

What’s the most regrettable beauty trend you have ever tried?
Plucking my eyebrows until they were miles apart.

If you could hear one song performed live by any musician what would it be?
“Hit Me Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears

What’s something people wouldn’t know about you?
I’m very emotional and wear my heart on my sleeve. I may cry (happy cries count too!) a few times a day.

In a world full of influencers, who influences you most?
My mom and three sisters—and Cindy Crawford of course.

What motivates or inspires you?
Being a good example for my little sisters and other young girls who follow and support me and my career. And living by the philosophy my Dad instilled in me to “treat everyone the way you want to be treated.”

Do you have a self-care ritual or a creative pursuit?
Absolutely! I have recently been obsessed with CRYO therapy. It depuffs you and has helped me sleep better.

What’s the worst holiday gift you ever received?
A jacket I was dying to have and someone (who I love dearly) printed out a picture of it and said they ordered it and it “never came.”

What’s your guilty pleasure snack?
Hot fries!!

Looking back, what advice would you give to your 14-year-old self?
Be comfortable in your own skin, don’t worry.
