Camille Kostek Put Her Dedication on Display in These 6 Photos From the Dominican Republic

The six-time SI Swimsuit model talked hard work on the set of her 2020 photoshoot.

The year after American model Camille Kostek graced the cover of the 2019 SI Swimsuit Issue, she returned to the brand's set for yet another feature in the annual magazine. She traveled to the Dominican Republic with photographer Kate Powers for her third consecutive appearance in the issue.

From a young age, Kostek understood that making things happen for herself was a matter of hard work. “My mom really always taught me to go after anything I wanted, even if the dream seemed so wild or too big,” she said of early lessons in perseverance and developing a work ethic. 

“If I was scared to do something she would say, ‘That’s your gut or your instinct telling you you should probably go for it. And if you fail, go back and try it again—how bad do you want it? Maybe that failure will lead you to something better.’”

It was that sort of hard work that led her to pursue a feature in the 2018 issue through the first Swim Search, and it was her perseverance that earned her the title of co-winner in that year’s open casting call. When people ask her how she has gotten to such heights in her career, she tells them, “I go in there and I [say] ‘I’m going to get this,’” and then does it, she said during her 2020 photoshoot.

With that kind of attitude, it’s no surprise that all of Kostek’s SI Swimsuit features have been incredible, the 2020 appearance chief among them. Below are some of the epic snaps from that trip to the Dominican Republic.
