Camille Kostek is the queen of manifestation. She has nailed down a mindset and a routine that really allows her to believe in herself in order to make her dreams come true. The biggest testament to the Swim Search alumna’s power is manifesting her 2019 SI Swimsuit Issue cover.

The television personality applied to the open casting call and was named the co-winner in 2018. She was captured by Yu Tsai in Belize that year, and traveled to Kangaroo Island, Australia with photographer Josie Clough for her 2019 photoshoot, which would go on to land her the cover as a rookie. In doing so, she became the first Swim Searcher to land on the front of an issue.

“The biggest piece of advice I can give on manifesting something in your life, it could be anything. It could be manifesting having a dog. It can be manifesting a job. It can be manifesting health, joy, love ... anything. It could be something tangible, little or big,” she stated in an Instagram live on SI Swimsuit’s account last week. “My overall biggest tip would be believe in yourself, believe in your dream, believe in your goal, or whatever it is that you want to achieve, or feel. It can be a feeling. Know that it’s possible and truly let go of any fears, any limiting beliefs, anything that could get in the way of stopping that from coming true.”

Visualizing her goals

Kostek explained that she is a very visual person. In 2017, she printed out Kate Upton’s SI Swimsuit cover photo from Fiji and hung it up on her wall. The Connecticut native would wake up and go to bed looking at that image. If she was ever traveling, the poster would come along in a little folder, and even if it was just for five seconds, she would make sure she saw the photo at some point every day.

Kostek took her manifestation a step further by imagining what it would feel like to find out she landed her own cover girl moment with SI Swimsuit.

Seeing the dream come true

“[I would] feel what it would feel like if I ever got that exciting breaking news. Little did I know, it came sooner than I could have imagined. I landed the cover my rookie year,” she continued. “A lot of work went into that. This was like a dream of mine from being a teenager, I think I was like 15-years-old when I first got my hands on a magazine cover. It was something that I talked about with my mom [and] my close friends. [I] always kind of had in the back of my mind that is something that I wanted to accomplish in my life.”

Kostek is forever grateful for SI Swimsuit for putting her “on the map” and jumpstarting her modeling career. The jewelry and swimwear designer, who has been featured in the magazine every year since her debut, adds that the brand helped her “grow into a woman” and accept herself.

Putting in the work

Kostek is candid about the fact that achieving goals takes hard work, dedication and time, along with manifestation.

“It was a really exciting goal. So when I put it to a vision board and I really started doing the work and traveling and networking and doing everything that I could to get in front of the right people, years in the making, I truly believe that extra vision board, taking that time of envisioning it, feeling what that feeling would be like, when that feeling came, it was more euphoric than I could imagine,” she shared. “I really didn’t think it was possible. And when you start to empower yourself and believe in yourself to a new level, the universe will align with you. I promise. You just have to believe with it. Get out of your own way, give yourself grace, give yourself patience. Trust that when something doesn’t work out, it’s because something better is meant for you. When there’s setbacks, I believe that that means that there’s just something more beautiful than you know that’s on the horizon.”
