Caroline Wozniacki Serves Fierce Energy in These 6 Pics From Turks and Caicos
Professional tennis player Caroline Wozniacki announced her return to the sport in June after retiring in 2020. Throughout the last three years, she and her husband, David Lee, started their family, and are the proud parents to daughter Olivia and son James.
The 33-year-old athlete has posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue three times, starting with her 2015 debut in Captiva, Fla. She returned to the fold the following two years, and modeled in both bodypaint and swimwear in Petit St. Vincent and Turks and Caicos, respectively.
Wozniacki publicized her return to tennis in a self-penned essay for Vogue, in which she shared how she came to her choice.
“Three years ago, having achieved almost everything I’d ever set out to do, I walked away from the professional tour,” Wozniacki wrote. “I wanted to start a family, and I needed a break. I had no idea how long that break would last. But then, one day late last year, I found myself setting up a couple of sessions on the court. And when my dad visited me in Florida, I realized I needed advice. I hit for 20, 30 minutes—I’m not sure how long, but at one point I looked at him and said, ‘I feel like I’m hitting it better than I ever have. Am I making that up?’ He said I wasn’t making that up. And that’s when I knew I had to get back out there.”
She didn’t waste any time, as Wozniacki played her first Grand Slam match since the Australian Open in 2020 at the US Open in August. While she was defeated in the fourth round, we are eagerly awaiting Wozniacki’s continued pro tennis return in 2024.
In the meantime, below are a few of our favorite snapshots from her SI Swimsuit feature in Turks and Caicos.
