Chandra North turns 40 on Wednesday. The Dallas native appeared in three swimsuit issues (1998, 1999, 2002) but grew up wanting to be a ballerina. She got her start in modeling when she was approached one day while sitting by the pool on the campus of Southern Methodist University. In addition to SI, North has  been featured in ads for Versace, Chanel, Alberta Ferretti, Saks Fifth Avenue, Givenchy, J.Crew and Banana Republic. Happy birthday Chandra!
