Christie Brinkley visited The Today Show on Monday to promote the SI Swimsuit anthology, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful. Brinkley, who became an international icon after appearing in the magazine, would appear to be a fitting spokesperson. In 1981, she became the first model to appear on the SI Swimsuit cover three years in a row, and she has eight total appearances. In addition to modeling, Brinkley has crossed over into acting. In 2012, she starred on Broadway as Roxie Hart in Chicago, and appeared in National Lampoon's Vacation and episodes of Parks and Recreation. On show, host Matt Lauer asked Brinkley about the impact of appearing in SI. "Even a little picture like that changed my life. And the cover? Forget about it.  It's like night and day."
