Clair Bidez Wore a Chic Valentine’s Day-Ready Bikini on the Snowy Slopes of Canada
Clair Bidez joined the U.S. Snowboarding team at the age of 16. She had already been competing for six years—since she was just 10—and had proven herself enough to be invited to the selective squad.
Seven years later, she had several more medals and a potential Olympic bid on her radar. The 2010 Winter Olympics were set to take place in Vancouver, Canada, and Bidez was hopeful for a spot on the squad. With that ambition in mind, she headed to another part of the North American nation for a different—but likewise major—professional experience.
That year, Bidez made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut. With her snowboard in hand, she posed in a series of red-and-white bikinis on the snowy slopes of Whistler, Canada. She proved that her skills on the slopes extended beyond simply her snowboarding ability.
Though the now 36-year-old failed to make the Olympic team that same year, her professional career saw her win a handful of medals in big competitions, including Junior World Championships and the like. Shortly after her SI Swimsuit feature, she retired from the sport citing a persistent ankle injury and a desire to finish her education.
Today, we’re taking a look back at her SI Swimsuit appearance, which aptly includes some sweet red-and-white heart-adorned bikinis—just in time for Valentine’s Day. Here are a few of the glamorous photos from the trip to Canada, where she worked with visual artist Warwick Saint.
