Genevieve Morton was photographed by Yu Tsai in Switzerland.

Genevieve Morton made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2010 when she posed for Walter Chin in Palm Springs, Calif. The model returned to the magazine for a total of six consecutive years, traveling to Fiji, Zambia, Australia, Switzerland and even double-dipped in her final year for a bodypaint photoshoot and beach feature in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.

The 37-year-old is the founder of Morton Media Management, a company created to empower artists, creatives, models and photographers to take charge of their art and build a brand. The Benoni, South Africa-born model grew up in Cape Town, where she first began modeling. She then moved to New York City in 2009 and signed with IMG Models. In ’12, Morton was voted FHM magazine’s “Sexiest Woman in the World” and became the face of Maserati in 2015.

The fitness enthusiast revealed that she consulted with athletes before her first SI Swimsuit photoshoot, as she was trying to get in the best shape possible.

“I remember when I was training for my very first Sports Illustrated [feature], I felt like I was, in my opinion training for like the model Olympics. I was training every day and like getting super fit. And it was nice to be able to speak to someone who knew fitness and had that experience with body and health and everything,” she said. “I started trying out a bunch of different new workouts with ClassPass. I started doing a take on CrossFit, it’s all like kettlebell swings and interval training, and it really boosts your metabolism. So I’ve been enjoying that, but I found a secret trick: this thing called CryoHealth. You get in [a tub] and freeze yourself. If you have any muscle issues or injuries it helps take down the inflammation which is unbelievable. It recharges you, energy-wise and I think it just wakes you up and makes you feel more alive.”
