Fun, Printed Bikinis Stole the Show During Sara Sampaio’s Photo Shoot Along the Jersey Shore

The two-time SI Swimsuit model nailed her 2014 and ’15 features with the magazine.

Sara Sampaio might be best known as a model, but she’s certainly making her mark in the fashion industry and cementing herself as an Instagram influencer. The Portugal native, who was discovered at the age of 15, walked in six consecutive Victoria’s Secret runway shows between the years of 2013 and 2018. She made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2014, traveling to the Jersey Shore with photographer Ben Watts. She returned to the fold the following year and posed for a unique road trip-inspired feature along Route 66 with Ben Morris.

“I look back at photos when I was 16 or 18—when I first started modeling—and think, ‘Oh my god.’ I used to not care at all about fashion. It’s definitely evolved since then; what I like about fashion now is that you get to be someone different depending what you’re wearing. I love to play and try different things. Sometimes you try different things and they are incredible, and sometimes you try and [you realize] maybe that was a no ... But it’s still fun,” she said about developing her personal fashion sense. “I think [clothing] really helps to enhance parts of your personality. It’s funny because I dress very differently in the winter and in the summer. In the summer, I love being very girly in very fluid dresses; just very feminine. In the winter I like to go more for black, powerful suits. It’s almost like I have two different personalities depending on the season. I think the fashion that I just love: good, well-tailored clothes. Very constructed pieces where you don’t even need to do anything—you just put it on.”

It’s no surprise that the stylish model—who is constantly serving the most chic and elegant looks during music festivals, nights out and global fashion weeks—rocked super cute, fun, flirty printed and patterned bikinis during her debut with the magazine.
